Award-winning artist Jill Banks paints wherever she goes, witnessing and capturing life on location. Her impressionistic oils can be seen in top exhibitions, plein air events and fine art festivals nationwide. In 2011, she painted “100 Faces in 100 Days” of anyone who volunteered, from January 1 through April 10. She teaches in Great Falls.
Golden Bridge (Alexander III, Paris)

Thankfully, I begged and squeezed in an 11-day personal painting trip to Paris -- started upon arrival on August 7 and ending on April 18 for the journey home. I pinched myself for those eleven days ... and seriously tried to "soak up" every sight, sound, smell. The noises at night out the window of our airbnb were like music. (Actually, sometimes they were.) I took time between painting to hold hands, appreciate, explore. I am thankful ... way beyond words ... for the joy this trip brought. Really special new captures included the view from Alexander III bridge. Like always, there was a rhythm of inspiration constantly leading to the next paintings.
